First step on how to get six pack abs is to lose the fats over your abdominal area. You should do some cardio workouts like running, rowing, cycling, dancing, aerobics. These exercises will help you trim off the fats in your body. Losing the fat is needed to unmask those toned abdominal muscles. To help you lose the fat, eat small portions of food during dinner. Fat stored during dinner is usually not burnt because people tend to be inactive after this time. In order to cut off large portions, it is advised that you drink a glass of water before eating dinner, or eat fresh fruits and veggies or nuts to cut off the appetite.

Next step is never skip breakfast. You need to eat breakfast so you will not eat a large amount of food during lunch. Cereals, smoothies, fruits and yogurt can be taken for breakfast. It is said that you need to divided your weight (in pounds) in order to know how much water you need to drink. If you weigh 150lbs you need to drink a min of 2.2 litres of water in a day.

Do some exercises that can help build your abdominal muscles like crunches, sit ups, leg lifts, jackknife sit-ups, static holds, sit-ups which target your oblique muscles, some bicycle crunches. You need to strengthen your core and tone those muscles. You can also combine push-ups with rows to create a complex core work out. This will enable you to have fun during your muscle building and toning to get the perfect six pack abs you want.
